Oh the night I had last night was one for the records...it started out harmless enought. Patrick, Nadine, Patrick's little brother Daniel and I ushered for BLUE MAN Group. Now if you haven't seen this show I'd say go...but if you have stay home! I saw it for the first time in 1998 and it hasn't changed a lick! Though being an usher does have a few perks - we did get to see the Blue Men practice prior to being Blue - and that was really cool!
So the strange part of the night - the 77 Belmont and trying to get home...I didn't think that this would be all that hard but I was wrong. I stood at Halsted and Belmont for about 10 minutes prior to an old homeless man approaching and asking where the bus was going...well sir...I believe if it ever arrives it will travel down Belmont...but it didn't so I started traveling down Belmont...I stopped at Clark and Belmont to look and see if it was coming and ran across the worst transvestite I have ever seen. I mean in the sense that she would have drawn stares if she really was a woman - that bad! Keep walking - a woman starts beating her boyfriend while he is driving down the road...is this really happening - another tranny helps the guy out - seriously!
Keep walking, just keep walking!
Oh my gosh a building is on fire!!! All of this in one night, are you for real?
Keep walking, still walking, oh gee, I'm only at Southport - I have at least another mile and a half to go and I don't think I can handle the drama...I stopped at that bus stop and pondered if the bus was still running...the girl standing there asked if she knew me...she was harmless enough and actually sold me my glasses - SCORE! The bus finally arrived and guess who was on it...the entire circus described above!
Fun times on the 77!
